How to beat back a self-indulgent, materialistic, small-minded future for our societies. A briefing from Futurist Chet W. Sisk
No, it's not your imagination. There is a fundamental shift happening in society. On the surface, it doesn't look good at all. We're trending toward materialism, small-mindedness and a general obsession with acquiring money. And no, it didn't start with Millennials. The seeds of the current trend were planted at least 100 years ago in something called "rugged individualism". Check out these reports first before we get to the solutions...

What's a solution? An Agile Scalable Cooperative Platform
I've created a proof-of-concept global model of connected community groups, based around the use of new technology, digital currency and the philosophy of Ubuntu. It's called a Agile Scalable Cooperative Platform. What we've done is reorganize structure to help individuals have more tools in their earnings portfolio. In other words, as many people have investment options, we've developed a tool for more people to have broader earning options. I've created this approach to help buffer the jobs losses that will be caused by automation and the widespread underemployment where people have to work several jobs to make ends meet. Each participant will:
1. Have the option of participating in a local support group called a "supergroup"
2. Will be able to place their ad, promotion or message in our app that circulates out to all super group members (download - https://www.leadtheshift.com/)
3. Receive a digital currency VISA card in November - December of 2018 through our partners at Earth Dollar. This is to encourage trade, commerce and activity among super group members.
If you'd like to participate, write me back at email@example.com and let me know you're in. Find out more at https://www.leadtheshift.com/ubr-super-group-description.html
Then, write me back at firstname.lastname@example.org and let me know you'd like to participate. My partners have extended the deadline for participants to let us know by August 31st.
How to lead when those you serve aren't interested in thinking. A briefing from Futurist Chet W. Sisk
Let's be honest. A good portion of people really aren't thinking about higher ideas or a more perfect union or the betterment of humanity. Their base line is "how am I and my children going to eat today?" That thought in itself is noble, but if it is the ONLY focus, it can be very difficult to create a society that addresses the core issue of why you and your children are hungry in the first place. Indeed, trending reports show that in the US and other countries around the world show our populations are drowning in a sea of information but less wiser (the application of knowledge) or smarter (the understanding of data and what it means). Here are some of those reports.

There are several things I think leaders need to understand to be more effective in this unprecedented time.
1. Don't beat people over the head with facts. Show them what end result you are seeking.
2. Organize your ideas so that a five year old will understand. This is not to insult your audience, but to recognize in a world of information overkill, the more simple an idea, the better it can be managed.
3. Keep the big picture to yourself, but drill down on the individual parts with those you lead.
4. Encourage people to read more. Reading has an effect on the brain different than osmosis via television or computer screens.
