A few weeks back, Scientists told us about something very important that most people didn't hear about or simply shrugged off. The information was so important, I went back to retrieve it so that you can hear it again, in case you missed it or shrugged it off.
Based on the data that I have gathered to this point, the generation that will experience a catastrophic climate collapse of our planet has already been born. I know. It is not my intention to frighten, but to lay the data out as it exists. That being said, there is a gigantic, if not unnoticed effort happening around the world to move from climate change prevention to climate change contingency. Believe it or not, this move creates a window of opportunity. It means that we'll have to redirect our resources into living dramatically different in the years ahead. We have several things on our side that can make this contingency planning more regeneration planning. Here is what I see are the tools of possibility. The Rise Of Megaprojects --- You've heard me talk about this before, but I predict they will gain more traction (such as enclosed megacities, the elimination of automobiles, geoengineering and globally bridging societies) because of the coming technological unemployment crisis. Governments will struggle to develop plans and megaprojects will be their first line response. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=Why+we+must+create+megaprojects Indoor Vertical Farming ---- Yes, I've talked about this before, but with many parts of the world becoming too hot to grow crops in climate collapse, indoor vertical farming must become more than a nice thing to do, but an essential way of life. This has the potential to create better food without the need of GMO development. This also means new countries can contribute to the food basket as well as individuals from the privacy of their grow shed. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g9ccN68PKl8 New Leadership --- The old saying goes "the mind that got you here will not be the same mind that will get you out." The leadership that brought us to the point of global crisis is not the same leadership that has the vision to see us out. We must now embrace an egalitarian leadership model, where a collection of ethnic groups, genders, perspectives and ideas must share in new thinking, new models and new visions. Anything less than that is the recipe for more of the same. Global Competency --- The climate change crisis we face is global. This means all of us are at risk and no country can go this crisis alone. Technologies that increase our global connection can also build the bridges of support and collective action. We'll need that level of support more now than ever before. The side effect of this effort? More global understanding, fewer conflicts and organization around a common cause. Those who have this kind of global citizenship will be in demand in this time of change. A New Kind of Economic System --- The old world economic system is at the heart of the carbon emissions that have fueled climate change, whether it is acknowledged by politicians or not. This means the time is ripe for a new kind of purpose-driven economic system that brings everyone in and makes them part of the solution. An updated version of The Sharing Economy may be one answer. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MEzSzptjS40 A New Vision --- This is my speculation, but the period where people quit visualizing was when machine societies took over. It is time to rethink who we are and what we want to be. Even in the face of great challenge, we must develop a compelling, empowering, sharing and affirmative vision for the future. This video with Morgan Freeman sums up what myself and my colleagues in LEAD Global and The LEAD Global Collaborative Commons Super Group seek to do -- provide evidence-based ideas and solutions-oriented approaches to a world that has been tone deaf -- until now. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8YQIaOldDU8 Yes, Chet
