In a conference in Malaysia, I forwarded the idea that we cannot assume leadership in the green movement and being better stewards of our natural resources without talking about gender equality around the world. Women are the world’s most precious and valuable natural resource, yet the world has a long way to go before Gender Equality is the rule and not the exception. Gender Equality must be placed in the same discussion with saving the planet and climate change. At a time when the planet is in peril, forward thinking leadership recognizes we must have all shoulders at the wheel. Placing Gender Equality in a ‘green’ capacity changes the scope of this discussion by recognizing that it truly is about the proper use of resources. Something to consider.
