There is an emerging body of evidence that shows climate change is not only affecting our food supply, mass migration, poverty levels, the livability of our planet and generally create an extinction level event, but it is also having a serious effect on our mental health--- and it's not good.

WHAT CAN WE DO?
Over the years, I've shared some of the best advice out there that we can start to implement right now. Here are three things within your grasp....
Get formal support systems in place. Yes, its good to have the support of family and friends, but if you or someone you know is starting to demonstrate increased stress and anxiety, get them professional support in the form of a trained therapist, or even life coaches. We are in unprecedented times. It's time to take unprecedented actions.
Start engaging in Climate Change Adaptation planning. Most of the conversation out there is around climate change happening. Now we have to get to how do we live in a world in a state of flux. This helps people to wrap their heads around solutions instead of just the problem.
Get informed. Nothing breeds fear and anxiety more than ignorance. Get informed about what's going on and how you may be affected. This is the first step to making a plan.
A BUSINESS PLAN FOR CLIMATE CHANGE ADAPTATION
At one time, this was seen as an environmental problem and was compartmentalized by many as such. Now that it's being received as a human problem, here are three things businesses can do to navigate climate change adaptation.
Time for a technological upgrade. Of course, this is a unpopular suggestion because it means putting a bunch of money back into the business. But if you have your eyes on the future, you know many companies as they exist now will fall behind as society changes. Make your company climate change ready through technology.
Fully engage in public transportation. A massive effort for you and your employees as well as those in the associations you work with is needed now to at least slow down the rate of change. That means creating a zero impact carbon footprint. One way that can happen is by engaging public transportation. Immediately.
Incorporate climate change adaptation into your company's vision statement. It can't be something as flowery or as non-committal as "we hope to build a better world for our children, etc", but something specific, like "we will champion indoor gardening efforts to help feed communities around the world".
