We tend to avoid conversations we feel are bigger than us. We don't like to seem like we don't know, This may be the reason why many of our leaders are not having a frank discussion with you about The Fourth Industrial Revolution/World Shift. Understandably. A lot of this is fear. Millions of people out of work can be a recipe for social disruption we've never seen before.
If we get in front of the conversation, The Fourth Industrial Revolution/World Shift could be the most empowering moment in the history of humanity. I concur with what Wired Senior Editor Keven Kelly said about robots taking our jobs....
"We need to let robots take over. They will do jobs we have been doing, and do them much better than we can. They will do jobs we can’t do at all. They will do jobs we never imagined even needed to be done. And they will help us discover new jobs for ourselves, new tasks that expand who we are. They will let us focus on becoming more human than we were. Let the robots take the jobs, and let them help us dream up new work that matters."
This is the big push by LEAD Global. We've reasoned that this is too important of a conversation to leave to chance because we were afraid of what we'd lose instead of inspired by what we could gain. To that end, we are doing a series of explanation workshops and new technology innovation labs to socialize this conversation and reveal many of the possibilities this powerful time presents. We especially want to make sure all of our communities hear of this so no one is left out of the opportunity loop.
